Wilberforce College

About us

Wilberforce College is a friendly and sociable place. There is a strong ethos of support and tolerance. Students are helpful and good natured. Both staff and students enjoy being at College, and this is a key factor in the success that we achieve together.

Like most educational establishments, eLearning and digital learning technology are now a central focus for development both in and out of the classroom. A key question we are striving to answer is how can we transform learning with M365 to create a truly inclusive digital learning environment?

“We started our digital transformation in Jan 2020 with the aim to make our curriculum fully inclusive by leveraging digital technologies both in and out of the classroom. This gave the College a significant head start during the National lock down in March. It enabled us to focus our efforts on developing positive teacher and student interactions in the remote world. We are now in position to assist other institutions after being awarded DfE Demonstrator status, It is our hope that by building trusting relationships with other school leaders we can ensure that no student in our area suffers loss of learning as a result of the pandemic” Colin Peaks, Principal.

In 2020 we were awarded the prestigious status of becoming a DfE Demonstrator College, this paved the way for us to use our expertise to support teachers around the country to deliver digital learning in their schools and colleges. The Ed Tech Demonstrator Programme includes a network of schools and colleges across England who exhibit effective practice in the use of technology. The programme intends to boost peer-to-peer support on the effective use of technology and has now been tailored to help schools and colleges provide education remotely. Read more below.
