Virtual Reality in Performing Arts 2022-23
The Innovate Team at the Grimsby Institute worked with the Digital and Creative Faculty to showcase how virtual reality can be used within different industries. Using 360 footage from music and performing arts classes, students were able to see their own work as part of an employability event called the Futures Festival.
From here Innovate worked with the BA Performing Arts learners to create their own 360 performances that could be viewed in virtual reality. An overview of the project is shown in our video submitted to the Digital Spring March 23.
‘Mixed reality’ Project, 2017-2018
In 2017-2018 the Digital Technologies Network is exploring a project on the use of 360 degree video and this will include variations such as Microsoft’s Hololens which you can see staff from the network trying out here at Grimsby Institute.
